Greetings Sacramento Chapter Members,

Fall is in the air and with the change of seasons comes new board members. The
former president and treasurer recently stepped down due to personal unforeseen
circumstances. With a unanimous vote at our October Board Meeting, I thank the
board in their appointing me as the new chapter President and I also ask you to
welcome back Mr. John Mellas, CPA, CISA as our new chapter Treasurer. John
has previously served the Sacramento chapter as Auditor.

Among the many new initiatives this year, we will be starting the process of creating
an online lab that will be available to our member’s for research project usage. Our
web site will soon have an expanded member’s only section and we have new alliance
programs in support of our university level recruiting efforts.

The guest speaker at our November 12th chapter meeting will be Mr. Ron Mathis
presenting "Web Application Security: Common Pitfalls and Best Practices". We
look forward to seeing all of you at this event.

CGEIT is the leading new certification for management level IT governance practitioners. The grandfathering period for obtaining CGEIT certification has been extended to 31 December 2008.

In closing I would like to thank the Board and all of the committee members for the
time and effort being expended in successfully supporting our programs. I encourage
all of our membership to get actively involved in our chapters initiatives.
