ISACA Sacramento Newsletter
President's Message April 2008
Greetings,
Thanks to all of you who joined us last month for our 25th anniversary celebration at the Marriott,
Rancho Cordova. It was a fun event catching up with old friends and meeting some new ones as
we were made aware of vulnerabilities of wireless networks. We were also inspired by the presence
of our past presidents Michael Pach and Carol Steichen who shared with us their experience with
ISACA. See page 6 for more details and photos taken at the event. In just a couple of weeks we
will be back out at the Marriott again for a breakfast event with Raley’s ISO David Prinzing. See
page 3 for more information and registration instructions.
It’s that time a year where we are accepting nominations for some of our board positions. We
utilize a rotating cycle with 2-year terms, electing half of our officers each year. This is a great
opportunity for you to get involved with our great organization. ISACA Sacramento Chapter board
members are volunteers, nominated by you our members, and then voted in by the membership.
We will be holding elections this year by email in May. As a chapter board member, you would be
required to commit your time to attend board meetings and assist with coordinating and organizing
chapter activities (20 to 50 hours per year). As a bonus, board members receive 10 CPEs per year
for board participation. See page 7 for more information and instructions for nominating yourself.
Again, thank you to Hilary and her team for another great newsletter. Please take a few minutes to
read it over as it contains important information about ISACA and its benefits for you.
